Company Practices
Activision Blizzard is a great example of vertical integration, globalization, media synergy.
- Vertical Integration - when the two individual companies, Activision and Blizzard, came together in 2007 they created a media empire. Vastly changing the state of the gaming industry by combining two of the most successful gaming companies into one.
- Globalization - Activision Blizzard bases most of their games on the ability to play online and interact with other players. With the vast amount of players across the world Activision Blizzard is almost forced into providing servers and customer service representatives throughout the globe to satisfy customers needs. World of Wacraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops have been two of the largest games to ever be sold, being sold all over the world.
- Media Synergy - When Activision and Blizzard merged they brought together two of the video game industries leading competitors. With the combination of these two giant companies there are no limitations on what we may see in the future of video games.
